Run game 320x240
Dolphin Internal Resolution is not able to go below 1x native or above to 1. If you reeaaally want to play at x, there is something of a hack you could do. You could set your display resolution to x It would downsample but you'd have the same sized pixels throughout.
You can just do that in your OS or you can use our INI system to set the resolution I forget exactly how to do that though. I'll try the INI system and see what kind of results that gets me, thanks! View a Printable Version Subscribe to this thread. Linear Mode. I don't want a lot of screen flickering during mode changes, but it does bother me a little that I never seem to have noticeable scan lines unless an object is moving. Wouldn't want to blow up the monitor, but I do have a spare I could try it on first.
Such connections only allow for one single video mode for everything and this gives you a stretched picture which is ugly and an unsinchronized screen refresh.
A VGA CRT monitor is a much better choice in my opinion, as it allows many games to run unstretched at vertical frequencies very close to the original ones.
If you really want to exploit your Commodore monitor, use an RGB connection with it. As far as I know, it has separate horizontal and vertical sync inputs.
You should be able to easily make an RGB cable that will perform a million times better than the S-Video connection you have now.
Thanks for the advice I guess there's no harm in trying it with my spare monitor, but I don't want to blow my motherboard. Probably Intel now that I think about it. I don't really have a good way to add a video card, since the mobo is just mounted onto a piece of wood. The results I'm getting look fine to me, and I don't want to shorten the life of the CRT by having it keep switching modes all the time.
It's gonna have to switch every time it goes back to the menu, too. I'd really prefer to accomplish this using off-the-shelf cables instead of having to cut and solder. I've bought enough power tools lately that I'll never use again, and a soldering iron would just add to that pile.
The gender changer did not work. The pin layout is different. If you look at one of the threads that I started there, the proper pin layout is there. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed! Thanks for the info I wonder if I could just open the gender changer and reconfigure the jumpers? I owned a game center for 13 years and sold it last February. We had hundreds of copies of scores of games that the new owner didn't want, so I kept them.
I thought it would be great to play some again, but I became so frustrated with the install process I ended up giving them all away. Not that my wife minded. Great post, as always. Thanks, Scott. They make the old games work just as they did back in their glory days.
Hi, Scott! I leave you a super cool link. Regards from Argentina. Francisco Ruiz. Richard P. Mark Harby. December 28, You've got to check out NaclBox! It runs in the browser with no security popups. One click with the latest version of Chrome and you're running. Here's Descent! If you're using SoundBlaster for music and I assume you are , you're totally missing out.
The best music option by far is the MT However it's a little trickier to get MT emulation working. ROM and place them in the installation folder of DosBox. Third, edit your dosbox config file, and set the music option to be mt Fourth, setup the game, and select MT as your music device. Run the game and prepare to be amazed by how much better mt is.
Omer Mor. Loved the game, love the emulator. For another option for some really vintage games look for Sinclair's ZX Spectrum emulator. Manic Miner is a nice arcade-yet-still-need-to-use-your-head-to-play game.
There used to be another online emulator with tons of games for it. Another interesting thing that goes around these days is the Atari 4 Flashback, which looks like a cheap plastic knock-off of the good old atary. Comes with 75 games including Space Invaders! One day I'll hack it into his SnapCircuit and my Arduino and we'll even have more fun. Ken Egozi. DOSBox is awesome.
If you run Mac, there's a great frontend to it called Boxer which handles a bunch of stuff with getting games installed.
