Search license key

To reduce network traffic during scanning, only a limited number of keys are scanned by default and most scanning methods only scan keys once every 40 days. On-demand scans of license keys can also be performed by using one of the Rescan buttons found on asset pages and in asset overviews.

The Rescan buttons ignore item intervals and immediately rescan all of a Windows computer's data. The Reports tab of the console includes a built-in report called License: Software licensekey overview that lists the keys found on the Windows computers in your network.

Lansweeper scans both the software installations and the software license keys found on Windows computers in your network. To avoid unnecessary network traffic during non-agent based scanning, not all Windows computer data is rescanned all the time.

You should not use license keys as an indicator of how many software installations exist in your network. When you want to reinstall Windows 10 or to get technical support from OEMs, you need to know the computer serial number. Generally, if you bought a desktop or laptop from OEMs like Dell, HP, etc, you will find it on a sticker on the machine itself.

However, that may not be the case for other machines. In those cases, you need a different way to find Windows 10 serial key. Rather, it shows the product key which is completely different from the license key. The good thing is, there is always a way.
